A Different Post today--Playing For Change | Peace Through Music

Playing For Change | Peace Through Music
This morning while looking for something online, I stumbled across a video. It wasn't what I was looking for...but, I'm so glad I found it.  I'd like to share the link with you.    I was so enthralled with the music...and the message. While listening to Stand By Me, performed by various musicians from all over the world, joined together in their music by technology. I actually got choked up.

I spent over two hours at the Playing For Change Website www.playingforchange.com listening music....The performances by these wonderful singers and musicians were fantastic! The videos are amazing!
It's amazing what technology can do...Each musician or group of musicians are in their home country, yet, with the power of technology and their love of music, they created beautiful music together...with a message we should all be listening to. Our children should be singing and enjoying their music no matter where they live....... This has to be one of the most 'Feel-Good' and entertaining websites I've ever visited.  I think we all agree that it would be fantastic if the world could unite in peace...and our differences could be celebrated, instead of something that keeps us apart.  The old saying "music soothes the savage beast"...Maybe that will work for people as well.....The message of sharing, and uniting the world with music reminds me of the late 1960's and early 70's....now I'm dating myself, lol.

I hope you will visit Playing for Change / Peace through Music and listen to Roger Ridley sing 'Stand by Me'.  When he is joined 'via technology' by other musicians, it's amazing to hear them joined together, sharing their music and message.  I watched and listened to this several times, then Gord came into the room, so see where the beautiful music was coming from....and we watched and listened together.
I have to admit, my day of work that I had planned went out the window, as I had to search their website to hear more of their music.  There are several videos, and all of them amazing...Very talented musicians!.  When they sang 'Imagine', it was as if I was in a time warp....back to the 'good old days', listening to John Lennon singing....then, a rare treat, as part of the music video, they actually had a clip of John Lennon singing 'Imagine', with Yoko Ono sitting beside him....Boy, did that bring back some great memories!

I know that I'm not the only one who is tired of all the 'Bad news' that we're bombarded with everyday. Floods, earthquakes, fighting and wars....Our 'differences' are always being stressed and we may feel we have nothing in common with someone across the world...but we do...and one of these is Music. It would be great if the power of music and art can bring us closer together....
I don't usually post about much other than Card-making, Scrap-booking and rubber-stamping. After watching the videos and listening to the music of these talented musicians, I felt so good inside.I wanted to share it with you.  And, I think it would be great if we could spread the word about this fantastic organization.
I hope you will get the chance to visit the Playing For Change website and enjoy their music as much as we did.
If you enjoy the music (and message) I hope you will share it with your friends....

As always, Thanks for visiting
